PAPIEЯ is a multidisciplinary work by Brazilian artist Carolina Figueiredo and German musician Lutz Gallmeister. It uses the investigation of paper as a pretext to question contemporary progress, its consequences for Latin American culture, and the trajectory of humanity.

A body that assumes many forms between folds and shadows plays with the boundaries of reality and the memory of a poetic dream. In a constant backward motion, sound waves create chaos within a paper installation that multiplies and vanishes amidst the fleeting flashes of an almost-reality. The “error” emerges as an inaccuracy—a slip that pulls us back into a reality dominated by icons and digital presence, until the boundaries of media dissolve and the body manifests through the play of words. The purity of a translucent image reveals a body caught in a carousel of memories, hurtling toward the “now.”

A pendulum where art swings between the lyrical and the mundane—speaking of its own flaws—serving as a catalyst to bring us back to the present, more awake and aware. The work combines movement, music, performative writing, live audio, video projection, and an installation of paper as a central visual element.
