“Muros” (Walls) is an audiovisual performance by the collective Memorial do Silêncio, developed during an artistic residency at the renowned Teatro da Vertigem.

The work is based on symbols from Max Frisch’s drama Andorra. Eschewing traditional actors, “Muros” – inspired by Heiner Goebbels’ Stifters Dinge – presents a production where light, sound, video, and objects take the lead roles.

Thematically, the piece explores social silence and passivity in the face of violence. It examines how prejudice and inaction can create the breeding ground for dictatorships. The collective aims to reconstruct erased memories and emphasizes the collective responsibility to break the silence.
